Methodology

We conducted a literature search to retrieve all peer-reviewed meta- analyses that reported at least one quantification on Soil Organic Carbon, expressed as a concentration (g C kg-1 soil or equivalent) or a stock (t C ha-1 or equivalent). We then extracted all quantifications presented in the meta-analyses and combined them to reach a global overview of the impacts of multiple interventions on Soil Organic Carbon, with high statistical power. We also characterized the methodological quality of the meta-analyses, and listed all the primary studies synthethized in the meta-analyses to clearly identify and present potential bias and limitation in the current scientific knowledge.
